The future of transporting flowers is sea freight. Flowers are no exception in the battle against rising transport costs and reducing carbon emissions. At Chrysal sustainability comes first. We have put this at the heart of our business and are aiming for a zero impact flower industry together with our partners. Sea freight lowers the carbon footprint by as much as 92% in comparison to airfreight, but comes with many challenges. With the development of our Sea Freight Service, Chrysal can help solve some of these challenges.

Syringa, commonly known as lilac, is a symbol of early spring with its heartwarming hues and intoxicating fragrance. Native to the woodland and scrub areas of Southeastern Europe and Eastern Asia, Syringa has long been cherished in gardens and folklore alike. Its name, derived from Greek, translates to a 'pipe', reflecting the hollow nature of its branches. Symbolizing renewal and confidence, Syringa's captivating blooms range from deep purples to the softest whites, making them a cherished choice for bouquets and ornamental displays worldwide.

Many years ago I had the priveledge of attending a seminar by a floral designer where he challenged the group to pay more attention to what was being discarded. He said he could walk into the average floral shop and make several nice designs by using only the remains in the trash can. Today we find ourselves asking the same questions. When we look at the shrink (trash) in the floral department, could a portion of that be saved and made sellable? Can we turn the trash into cash?
