Local involvement

Every Chrysal company will support a local CSR connected project with funding and/or people. These projects vary from a local water project to building a dormitory, below some examples.

Tania Institute

During one of his visits to Kenya, our general manager came into contact with the Eardrop Foundation. The goal is the improvement of medical care for hearing impaired children and adolescents in Kenya and other East-African countries. Chrysal wanted to help them and started a project in 2011 to construct a boys dormitory at the Tania Integrated Rehabilitation Center (TIRC). TIRC is a non profit organisation which comprises a school and boarding residence for hearing impaired children and children with other disabilities. We’re happy to announce that the dormitory was officially opened in May 2012.

The charity foundation of our shareholders, the AF Jochnick Foundation, helped with the funding. They support children's projects around the world.

(Pre)Ride for the Roses

Chrysal was happy to participate in and sponsor the ‘Pre Ride for the Roses’ as well as the ‘Ride for the Roses’ again in 2012. The Ride for the Roses is a mass cycle ride to raise money for KWF Kankerbestrijding (the Dutch Cancer Society). The 15th edition of the Ride took place September 9th, 2012 and raised a total amount of € 2,100,000.- for the KWF foundation.

The Pre Ride for the Roses is an initiative of the horticultural business to sponsor this event. Chrysal participated with a cycle team again and this year the Chrysal employees organised several activities to raise money for the event. The end result was a wonderful € 7,000.-. Besides participating, Chrysal donated rose sachets for the special Ride for the Roses bouquets, a retail promotion with a Dutch supermarket.
